What Is a Knurled Handle Spindle?

A knurled handle spindle is a special door/window handle spindle with a serrated surface along its length. These serrations mechanically lock the connection between the handle and the spindle, preventing the handle from sliding along the axis or rotating independently.

Why Is a Knurled Spindle Preferred?

With standard smooth-surface spindles, the handle may loosen inside the mechanism over time. The knurled surface eliminates this problem by providing a durable and secure connection. It is particularly preferred for doors and windows with a high frequency of use.

Dimensions

Knurled handle spindles are manufactured in standard square cross-section dimensions, ranging from 6×6 mm to 10×10 mm.

Who Uses Them?

Door handle manufacturers, particularly companies developing premium-segment products, prefer knurled handle spindles. They are also an important raw material for manufacturers of metal doors and security doors.
