What Is a Slotted Handle Spindle?

A slotted handle spindle is a specially formed door handle spindle with one or more longitudinal slots along the spindle body. These slots allow the handle to be secured to the spindle using a screw or pin.

Difference from a Standard Handle Spindle

In a standard smooth handle spindle, the handle is held in place only by friction. In the slotted version, a screw or pin enters the slot and creates a mechanical lock. This provides a much safer and more permanent connection.
